Body of man found in the Prut
A man was found drowned in the Prut River. Tatiana Corceac, the spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the victim aged 59 is a resident of Slobozia-Mare village. The body was noticed by border guards. The police are investigating the case to establish the circumstances of the tragedy.
A man and a woman were hospitalized after they inhaled poisonous fumes from the fires caused by them. The 43-year-old woman, who is a vagrant, fell asleep with the lit cigarette in a basement on Studentilor Street in Chisinau. The mattress ion which the woman was sleeping caught fire. She was taken to Saint Trinity Hospital.
A similar case happened in a house on Ion Creanga Street in Ungheni town. The 58-year-old owner of the house fell asleep with the lit cigarette, which set the bed linen on fire. The fire extended and destroyed property. The man was found by the firefighters.
Last night at about 3.00, a house in Cojusna village of Straseni district caught fire. Until the Straseni fire brigade arrived, the fire had destroyed the goods in two rooms and about 50% of the roof. The case is being investigated.
