The bodies of a 13-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl were recovered from a water tank of a sewage treatment plant in Alexandreni, Sangerei district.
According to a press release from General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations IGSU, on August 17, rescuers from Biruința rescue and fire station were called to help extract the bodies of two minors found in a water tank located in a disused sewage treatment plant.
According to preliminary information, the children fell into the 5 meters deep tank. The bodies were noticed by local people, who alerted the authorized services.
The recovery of the bodies was carried out by the rescuers shortly. Initial investigations show that the children had been left unattended. The case is being investigated.
The IGSU warns people who take care of minors to closely watch them, not allowing them to go to and play in unsafe places, in particular around water basins, on construction sites or disused industrial areas, as this poses an imminent risk to children’s life and health.
