Those who observe the tradition of diving on Boboteaza (Epiphany) are advised to follow several rules to avoid health problems and stay safe, IPN reports.
Boboteaza swimming is allowed only in specially arranged areas equipped with wooden stairs, and before entering the water, the body must be warmed up.
Staying in cold water should not last more than 10 seconds, and after exiting the water, individuals should dry off with a towel and wear warm clothes to avoid hypothermia.
Additionally, specialists warn against overcrowding on the ice surface, swimming with children without supervision, diving directly from the ice, and swimming while intoxicated.
