Singers from Chisinau yesterday evening gave a charity concert titled “For the World’s Children” organized by the NGO “Amici dei Bambini”. The money earned from the sale of tickets will go to help the boarding school graduates who want to continue their studies, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We want to sensitize the public opinion to the problems faced by the children in boarding schools, to raise funds and help these children. Last year, we managed to help 35 children with the money collected through the concert. We saw they wanted very much to study and build a future. If they work hard, they will manage to,” said Stela Vasluian, the president of “Amici dei Bambini” in Moldova. Natalia Ciobanu is 16 and is a student of the Technological College. She graduated from the boarding school in Cazanesti village. “Last year, when I found out I can study further I realized we also have a fate and there are good people thinking of us,” Natalia said from the stage. Stefan Panfil, 18, graduated from the boarding school in Straseni and also studies at the Technological College. He said he was very grateful for this support as he can fulfill a part of his dreams and learn skills for a job. The concert was held by ten pop music singers. “I’m sure these children will achieve nice results. We will support them in their efforts. We, the artists, came here this evening to say that we are near them and we wish them good luck,” said singer Adrian Ursu. A sum of 24,000 lei was collected by the concert last year and was used to help 35 boarding school graduates
