Tens of youths gathered near the Triumph Arch in Chisinau on Saturday to protest against the Prosecutor's office probing several adolescents who wrote commentaries on web forums, Info-Prim Neo reports. The protest action organized by the Unimedia portal has started not without incidents. They have adopted a resolution condemning the actions of Procuratura and they say they will tender to the Parliament, asking it for an attitude as to the issue. The young forum writers' action has been supported by several opposition political parties. A Liberal Democrat leader, Mihai Godea, has stated “now we assist at the beginning of transnistrialization of Moldova, and the latest actions of the government intimidating media, political parties and ordinary people pursue to create a North Korea in Europe's center.” A similar position has been expressed by deputy president of the youth organization of Moldova Noastra Alliance, Andrei Hancu. “The Communist abuses have lasted for more than 7 years. We are in solidarity with this youths, who have the courage to express their thoughts freely,» he said. Present at the event, lawyer Vitalie Nagacevshi has said the fact that those young men expressed their opinion on the Net as to what is going on in Moldova today can't be qualified as something illegal. Two months ago, the General Prosecutor's Office and the Information and Security Service procured the IP addresses of several forum writers who voiced against the Communist rule. On June 4, the Procuratura seized the computers of 12 adolescents it accuses of “calling to violently overthrow the constitutional regime and to liquidate the statehood and territorial integrity of Moldova.”
