A five-story block with social apartments intended for families with many children, persons with special needs and young specialists working in the budgetary sector will be built in Glodeni district, IPN has learned from the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.
Secretary of state at the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Dorin Andros said the ceilings and walls of the apartments will be painted and there will be installed thermopane windows, internal doors, autonomous heating systems, terracotta, laminate flooring and sanitary facilities. A sum of €1 million was allocated for the purpose.
In Moldova, social apartments are built within a development project to the value of €20.4 million. These are property of the local public authorities and the beneficiaries who are chosen by a local commission are allowed to use them.
Within this project, social apartments were already offered to citizens in Calarasi, Briceni, Soroca, Sangerei and Hancesti districts. Similar apartments will be soon made available in the districts of Leova and Nisporeni. The blocks in Rezina and Falesti districts are under construction.
The Council of Europe Development Bank lent Moldova €13.4 million, which is about 65% of the total costs. The loan is repayable in 20 years at a grace period of five years. The local public authorities contribute 35%.
