Block with 92 social apartments finished in Leova town

A block with 92 social apartments was built in Leova town with the financial support of the Council of Europe Development Bank. The apartments are intended for families with many children, young specialists working in the budgetary sector, persons with disabilities and other categories of people, IPN reports, with reference to a press release of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment.

In the ceremony to inaugurate the block, Minister of Agriculture Liviu Volconovici said the apartments were outfitted with sanitary facilities, autonomous heating systems, thermopane windows and internal doors. The walls and ceilings were painted.

The total cost of the project was €3.3 million. Of this sum, €2.1 million was provided by the Council of Europe Development Bank, while the rest was the contribution of the local public authorities.

Liviu Volconovici said the Council of Europe Development Bank is ready to hold negotiations  and consider possibilities of financing the third stage of the project.

Over the last three years, 228 social apartments were built in Calarasi, Briceni, Sangerei, Hancesti, and Soroca towns.

Similar apartment buildings are being erected in Falesti and Rezina, where 112 social apartments are to be finished by this yearend. The 93 social apartments in Nisporeni and 30 apartments in Ialoveni are close to  being finished. A block with 30 social apartments started to be recently erected in Glodeni. Three more such facilities with 90 apartments are to be built in Cimislia, Cantemir and Cahul.
