A man aged 37 from Copanca village of Căușeni district was hospitalized with fractures and burns as a result of an explosion that shook his home in the evening of January 3. It happened as a result of an unsuccessful maneuver when the man attempted to connect the gas cylinder to the flexible tube, IPN reports.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the windows and a part of the house were damaged. Firefighters examined the place to see if there were other persons inside.
The man suffered burns and leg fractures and was taken to the hospital by an a ambulance.
At the beginning of last October, five persons died as a result of an explosion caused by a gas leak in an apartment block in Râșcani district of Chisinau. There was a child aged four among them.
On December 31, a gas leak caused a blast in an apartment building in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk. After four days of searches, rescuers took 39 dead persons out of the rubble. About 20 persons were taken out alive. These included a child aged 11 months, who was saved in 36 hours of the exploitation. In the period, there were minus 23 degrees Celsius outside.
