The flat rate for the compulsory health care insurance premium will remain in 2020 the same as in the 2014 - 2019 period, id est 4056 lei, IPN  reports with reference to the bill on compulsory health insurance funds, which is subject to public consultations. The salary or other income percentage contribution to the compulsory health insurance premium remains at the same level as in previous years, namely 9% (4.5% for each payer category - employer and employee).

The FAOAM bill for 2020 keeps the 50% reduction for the flat rate of the  compulsory health care insurance premium for the majority of payer categories until March 31, 2020. The reduction rate is 60% for natural persons engaged in unincorporated retail business and 75% for owners of agricultural land.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said that the flat rate for the compulsory insurance premiums for medical assistance, paid by the natural persons, constitute 125 123 thousand lei. The amount is up by 17.4% compared to the approved amount for 2019.

According to the bill, the mandatory health insurance funds for 2020 will be approved with revenues of 8 383 392.2 thousand lei and expenses of 8 383 392.2 thousand lei.
