Bigger, diversified indemnities for orphans under tutelage
The Government increased the indemnities granted to orphan pupils and students under tutelage, and instituted two new types of indemnities, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the new decision, the assistance for clothes and footwear will be 3,000 and will be given at the beginning of the school year, and they will get 1,000 lei at the end of the scholar year. When finishing the school the orphans will get 5,000 lei, and 10,000 for graduating from vocational schools.
Their daily allowances for food, the monthly allowances for textbooks, for dwelling have also been increased.
Social Protection Minister Galina Balmos says the yearly indemnities will granted from 2009, and the monthly indemnities from October 1, 2008.
Premier Zinaida Greceanai stressed the importance of the decision designed to create equal opportunities for orphan children within society.
The parliament will modify, respectively, the state budget for 2008 and will propose modifications to the 2009 draft budget.
