Better conditions in two kindergartens attended by children from several villages
Over 150 children from Cotiujeni village of Briceni district and Floritoaia Veche village of Ungheni district will go to renovated nursery schools outfitted with the necessary teaching aids, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The kindergartens were repaired as part of the Education for All - Fast Track Initiative Project that involves central and local public authorities, international development agencies and communities that aim to improve the early education for all the children in Moldova.
“The kindergarten in Floritoaia Veche is attended by children from the three villages of our commune. The opening of a new class is a real present for the children and parents, especially for the 41 new children that will come to the renovated school,” said Margarita Baban, mayor of Floritoaia Veche.
“It is a very important event for our village,” said the mayor of Cotiujeni Mihai Ursu.
The two kindergartens were renovated at a cost of 500,000 lei. The community contributed the third part of the sum.
During the second year of the Education for All - Fast Track Initiative Project, there will be renovated 13 nursery schools and set up 26 community preschool centers. The project is implemented with a grant offered to Moldova by the Catalytic Fiduciary Fund. The grant is administered by the World Bank, while the project’s activities are carried out by the Ministry of Education and Youth with the support of UNESCO and UNICEF.
