Over 160 students of the Theoretical Lyceum “Children’s Academy” received diplomas of gratitude from the administration at the fifth Performance Gala. The students and their teachers were awarded for remarkable results achieved during the year in district contests, national or international contests in different areas, IPN reports.
Nina Harjan, director of “Children’s Academy”, said the number of children who achieve significant results at sports, music and dance contests, in school subjects and other areas rises from year to year. In the first Gala, there were awarded 20 children, but today diplomas were given to over 160 children.
Rodica Gutu, acting head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipal Council, said the Theoretical Lyceum “Children’s Academy” educates successful children for a successful society. “Today’s event lays emphasis on the promotion of children. From the first grade the child obtains particular results and should be encouraged by teachers and parents and motivated to grow and to achieve new results. This will help bring up successful people in our society,” she stated.
Eleva Madalina Pasenco was awarded at the district Olympiad in the history of Romanians and universal history. She said that to achieve success, one should read many books and be perseverant. “This year it was a kind of exercise for me, but next year I will work much more,” she stated.
Michelle Pranitski won medals at a student conference in Moscow. She said she likes studying foreign languages as she considers these help her in everyday life. “The higher is the number of mastered languages, the better you understand the people as language helps you understand how the people think,” she noted.
The students of the Theoretical Lyceum “Children’s Academy” will also receive diplomats at the school year closing festivity.
