About 380,000 lei will be earmarked from local budget for awarding the best schools and lyceums and the most proficient managers in the school education system in the municipality. The decision was taken by Chisinau Municipal Council on Thursday, May 3. The prizes will be awarded following an assessment of the level of preparation for the current academic year. Six lyceums in Chisinau will receive from local authorities by 10,000 lei each. They were designated as the best prepared education institutions for the academic year 2006-2007. The theoretical Lyceums “Natalia Gheorghiu”, “Natalia Dadiani”, “Nikolai Gogol”, “Constantin Sibirschi”, “Mihail Berezovschi” and “Dimitrie Cantemir” will benefit from awards on the part of authorities. At the same time, 118 directors of pre-school, pre-university and extracurricular education institutions in the city and 8 – in suburbs will be rewarded by the authorities with cash bonuses ranging from 1500 and 4000 lei. According to CMC’s decision, 60,000 lei will be allocated from the Reserve Fund for the awards of the six lyceums. 300,000 lei and 20,500 lei will be earmarked for awarding principals of the pre-university institutions in the municipality, from the available means of the Chisinau municipal budget.
