The best promoters of tourism in the Republic of Moldova in 2017 were awarded at the Tourism Gala that was held in a hotel in Chisinau on March 23. The over 400 claimants to the title “The Best” in tourism in Moldova were nominated in 20 categories, IPN reports.
Thus, Orheiul Vechi remains the most recommended destination for foreign tourists, while the National Wine Day continues to be the event that generates the largest flow of foreign tourists. The ensemble “JOC” was ranked first in the category “Ambassador of Tourism in the Republic of Moldova”, while Vasile Gonciari was named the craftsman who promotes Moldova the best.
Solei Turism was conferred the title of the best inbound tourism agency in Moldova, while Voiaj International kept the title of the best outbound tourism agency for the second year in a row. Veronica Raetsky-Tomescu and, respectively, Afanasie Esanu were named the people of inbound and outbound tourism. Elena Scobioala was named the best tourist guide recommended to foreign tourists.
The pies are the favorite Moldovan food of foreign tourists, while “Negru de Purcari” is the most recommended wine for them. “La Placinte” are the most recommended restaurants, while “Asconi” is the first winery in Moldova recommended to foreign tourists.
The agri-pension Butuceni was chosen as the best tourist accommodation unit in Moldova situated outside the capital city. In Chisinau, this position was occupied by Radisson Blu Leogrand Hotel. To reach Moldova, the foreign tourists travel mainly with Turkish Airlines or with the best road transport route operators Eurolines.
In 2017, the project “Be Our Guest” was the best tourism development project in Moldova, while the Life Tree became the brand that promotes tourism in Moldova the best. Also here, moldova.travel became the best media source that promotes tourism.
The winners were chosen by the online votes of Internet users and by a specialized jury.
According to the organizers, the event is designed to popularize at least ten tourist attractions of Moldova recommended to foreign tourists. In the long run, the event is to turn into a platform that will promote the sustainable initiatives and reforms in Moldova’s tourism industry.
