The budgetary sector employees with good results at work will receive higher salaries from the start of the next year. Such a stipulation is contained in the decision regarding the implementation of the salary grades in the budgetary sector in 2008 approved by the Government on December 5. Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Sergiu Sainciuc said that the salary fund in the social sphere of the budgetary sector will be increased by 10% as from January 1.This will enable the employers to fix and pay higher salaries to the best employees. According to him, about 300 million lei will be allocated from the state budget in 2008 for raising the salaries of employees with a good performance. Employers in the social sphere will be able to increase employees’ salaries by 10% to 30%, depending on the funds available. Therefore, the salary in the budgetary sector will rise by 23% on average the next year. Until present, the minister said, all the budgetary units paid the salaries according to the minimum salary grades of the common salary system. Starting with 2008, the employers could raise the salaries up to the maximum salary grade, which reaches 200 – 300 lei. Though not excluding subjectivism or abuse on the part of some company heads, Sergiu Sainciuc said that from January 1, 2008 the employers will have to assess the performance of the employees.
