“On June 3, it is decided Moldova’s fate: four more years of Communism or early elections. We, the Bessarabians in Bucharest, will be present in the University Square (the symbol of anti-Communism) to make common cause with Bessarabia,” a communiqué from the Organization of Bessarabian Students (OBS) in Bucharest says. “This meeting has two aims: the first - to attract attention to today’s vote and the second – last week we launched a campaign themed “Pro Romanian Nationality” and today we will put up a tent in the Union Square for the action,” the OBS president Corina Ciobanu has told Info-Prim Neo. "We consider that the Romanian nationality is a natural right that the Bessarabians and Bucovinians lost as a result of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact,” Corina Ciobanu added. "We will be there where the people died for freedom in order to support the democracy in Moldova,” the communiqué says. The organizers expect about 100 people to attend the rally.
