Besides consistency, bloc ACUM shows nothing else, opinion

Political pundit Anatol Țăranu said the bloc ACUM (NOW) is consistent in its acts; it chose a political tactic that seems to be very irrational, but pursues this with consistency – it said it will not negotiate and does not negotiate. However besides this consistency, the bloc shows nothing else, IPN reports.

The expert noted the bloc’s position is slightly bizarre as it proposes candidates for the senior state posts, but refuses to negotiate a parliamentary majority  without whose mechanism it cannot promote these candidates. “Many say it is like a shot in the dark and it seems to be so at first sight,” said Anatol Țăranu.

He also said that besides consistency, the bloc shows nothing else. “They condemned themselves when they chose this line of behavior. Their further behavior can be as follows: they either renounce what they stated with all the related image losses or continue in the hope that the people will start to forget this aberrant position and to take it seriously,” stated Anatol Țăranu.

He noted that the bloc ACUM’s position contains a rational part for the Republic of Moldova and for the political situation in the country: the parties that will constitute the parliamentary majority will be put in the situation to do real politics as this harsh opposition stays behind them and will permanently penalize them. “Any mistake, any inconsistency or even attempt to promote oligarchic policies will be penalized by the people by migrating to this pole of the “absolutely dissatisfied people,” said Anatol Țăranu.

Journalistic Vlad Darie wondered if the bloc ACUM told their voters before the elections that they do not intend to come to power to influence the state of affairs in the country. “They knew they will be in the opposition. This has been clear since they said they will not negotiate. Are these voters ready to experience the discomfort of the parties their supported being in the opposition for many years?” he asked.

According to him, the bloc ACUM should look for things they have in common with other parties, a common platform and to very insistently condition things. This way they would have contributed more to the de-oligarchization of the state and the further promotion of the pro-European course.

“If they stay in the opposition for four years, I don’t think they would collect points. On the contrary, I consider many people will get tired of this harsh, deaf, blind and unable to negotiate opposition,” stated the journalist.
