Benefits for farmland owners from Transnistria

The entrepreneurs who own farmland on the left bank of the Nistru River will be stimulated in the subsidization process. The minimum subsidized area of protected land on which vegetables are grown will be up to 0.01 hectares, as opposed to 0.03 hectares set for economic entities from the right bank of the Nistru. The subsidy provided in this respect will be by 10% higher. This refers to investments made in greenhouses, solariums and tunnels, IPN reports, quoting the amendments made to the regulations concerning the distribution of the agriculture subsidization fund for 2014.

The subsidy for investments made in growing ecological crops on protected land will be by 20% higher. The procedure for confirming investments made in materials used to build greenhouses, solariums and tunnels by agricultural producers from Transnistria will be simplified.

It is proposed that the applications of agricultural producers that made investments in Moldovan-administered settlements from the left bank of the Nistru should be authorized by the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture without applying the coefficient. This coefficient is calculated by relating the balance available in the agriculture subsidization fund to the sum requested by the producers. Last year it was 0.85, which means that the farmers received 850 lei per each 1,000 lei. This year, the agriculture subsidization fund is higher, but the applications for subsidies are also higher in number. On September 12, the subsidies asked for were by 180 million lei higher than the fund.
