Over 200 families have applied to buy apartments within the “First House” program launched by the Chisinau administration. Lilian Carp, the head of the apparatus of the Mayor General of Chisinau, said the first beneficiaries will be announced after December 20, by Christmas, Info-Prim Neo reports. Another about 100 applications are being processed at district heads’ offices. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the officials responsible for the program to discuss with the partner banks the possibility of extending the program and allowing the applicants to purchase houses or apartments in finished buildings. Under the municipal program “First House” launched this summer, four buildings with 400 apartments intended for socially deprived families will be built on Ghioceilor St and Mircea cel Batran Blvd. The foundations of two of the buildings have been laid. Dorin Chirtoaca said there is no deadline for the submission of applications. All those who meet the conditions of the program can apply. The apartments will cost €300-500 per square meter. The applicants will be able to take out loans repayable in 30 years, at a yearly interest rate of 9%. The main condition for releasing the loan is that the monthly income should be higher than 4,000.
