Belarus ex-ambassador to Moldova considers Chisinau position incorrect towards Transnistria
Moldova does not have a fair positions towards Transnistria in negotiations regulating Transnistrian conflict, as well as the subject related to new customs regime at Moldovan-Ukrainian border, Valeriu Poia, ex-ambassador of Belarus in Chisinau, coming from Ungheni, who introduced himself as Moldovan citizen, stated about this at a press conference on Wednesday, 15 March.
According to him, in the situation created around Transnistria, as well as within the negotiations, there is the necessity to involve the president of Moldova and to set a personal control of the latter one in order to get over the crisis. He noted that Voronin should discuss with his counterpart of Moscow Vladimir Putin about these problems.
Poia criticised as well the fact that an advisor of the president, Vladimir Voronin, Oleg Reidman made poublic his position regarding the created situation. „The function of an advisor is the other, and not to appear on TV,” he noted. He showed very dissatisfied with the activity of the minister of Reintegration, Vasilii Sova, as chairman of the Moldovan delegation in regulating the conflict. „The minister (Sova) does not have the right to express his negative position regarding Transnistria,” Poia mentioned.
The ex-diplomat also mentioned that in the situation created around Transnistria it is possible increase of the gas price, and to all goods of 2.5-3.0 times, and because of this the citizens and the economy of the country will suffer.
He also noted that Chisinau should continue the negotiations with Tiraspol, saying in this sense that Chisinau should have a more understanding and concealing position.
Valeriu Poia, coming from district Ungheni, announced previously his intention to take part in elections of the position of mayor of municipality Chisinau, at the scrutiny of 27 November 2005, but his candidate was rejected because he has violated the procedure of collecting the signatures.
