Beakers are warned that the aerial spraying of pesticides to combat pests in forests will take place between April 13 and 20. The bees should be held closed in the period. In a communiqué, the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva” informs that this year there will be processed over 30,000 hectares of forests, twice more than last year, IPN reports.
The aerial combating will cover 10 forestry entities. Two helicopters will be involved in these works. The forest protection measures taken will have a positive impact also on the adjoining farmland as sources of pests that easily pass from forests to fields and vice versa will be suppressed.
The preparations used in the aerial combating process are not dangerous for humans, but the people are recommended to avoid collecting mushrooms in the processed forests. Besides bees, domestic animals can be also affected so that they should be kept far from the given forests.
