The Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists invited the Party of Action and Solidarity to public debates at the Palace of the Republic on July 7, starting at 7pm. The announcement was made by the Bloc’s candidate for MP Vlad Batrîncea, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Socialists say the debates will center on six key issues: social policies; health; the economy; justice; the Transnistrian dispute, and foreign policy. Vlad Batrîncea said the public debate would be a confrontation of ideas involving leaders and candidates, which would help the candidates to compare the teams and to decide who to vote for on July 11.
BeCS proposed regulations concerning the conduct of debates, which can be coordinated with the political opponents. The moderator will be chosen by both of the sides, with journalist Gheorghe Gonța being one of the candidates.
Journalist Constantin Starysh, executive secretary of the Party of Communists who runs for MP on behalf of BeCS, said the current election campaign revealed two contenders with the biggest chances of entering Paramagnet. “Many polls show that only the Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists and PAS would enter Parliament. This way, the people should choose between these two political forces, two development options for the Republic of Moldova and Moldovan society,” stated the candidate.
Asked by IPN if PAS will accept the invitation, the party’s spokeswoman Aurica Rusnac Jardan said PAS is analyzing the proposal and will present its position later.
