The MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) ask to constitute a parliamentary commission of inquiry that would elucidate the circumstances of the issuing of state guarantees and the issuing of national currency in 2014-2015, IPN reports.
BCS MP Vlad Batrîncea said the commission should determine the political factors involved in “the theft of the century” and identify the accomplices to those wrongdoings. The legislative body has the capacity to shed light and other responsible bodies will also have what to do following the reached conclusions.
“On April 22, the Constitutional Court adopted an important decision on the violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova by the Government’s actions over those secret decisions to provide state guarantees for covering the billion theft. The Court held that a number of normative documents and laws were violated. We reiterate that those state guarantees were issued in breach the Constitution. Also, the Court ascertained that the Constitution was also violated when national currency was issued,” Vlad Batrîncea stated in Parliament.
The Socialists said those to blame should be brought to justice even in eight or nine years. “These crimes do not have statutes of limitations. The citizens, besides paying these debts for the stolen billions, expect justice to be done, the law to work and those to blame to be held accountable,” said Vlad Batrîncea.
In this connection, the leader of the parliamentary group of the Party of Action and Solidarity Mihail Popșoi said that this proposal will be discussed inside the group and PAS will present its position in the next sitting of Parliament.
