BCS tables no-confidence motion against Agriculture Ministry’s policies

The MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) proposed a no-confidence motion against the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry led by Ludmila Catlabuga, IPN reports.

MP Radu Mudreac said that ensuring the food security of the population is the obligation of each state, and citizens' access to quality basic products must be a major concern of the authorities. Unfortunately, the development of the agri-food sector does not seem to be a priority for the current administration of the country, as the state is facing problems in ensuring the food security of the population.

"The group of Communists and Socialists gives a vote of no confidence to the policies pursued by the Ministry of Agriculture led by Mrs. Ludmila Catlabuga," said Radu Mudreac.

The BCS group earlier tabled three other no-confidence motions. Two of them, against the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Research, failed. The motion against the policies of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization was not even examined as Dumitru Alaiba resigned as minister.

The no-confidence motion can be initiated by at least 15 MPs. It is submitted to the chair of the sitting in Parliament. After receiving the motion, the chair of the sitting brings it to the attention of the legislature. The debate on the motion is held on the date set by the Standing Bureau, within 14 working days from its submission.
