Romanian Commercial bank (BCR) was nominated recently as "Best Emerging Market Bank in Romania" by the specialists of the well-known American economic magazine Global Finance, according to Romanian press reports. The bank of Moldova - BCR Chisinau is also included in BCR group. Magazine’s analysts, together with famous analyst of economy, bank consultants and members of the management of important international corporations, selected the best banks of 22 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, within a complex study regarding the merging markets of the world, according to BCR press release. The criteria at the ground of nominating the winners included share growth, profitability, strategic partnership relations, service quality provided to clients, competitiveness of bank’s offer and capacity to innovate of goods and services. "The ward reconfirms the dynamism of the bank, the speed and capacity of BCR to grow and to adapt to market’s requirement through continuous diversifications of goods and services, the quality and efficiency level of our activity, putting on the first place the value creation", Nicolae Danila, BCR executive manager noted. Global Finance magazine will publish, in May number 2006, the results of its annual study regarding the best banks of the European Central and Eastern countries, it mentioned. BCR, the leader of Romanian bank system, ended 2005 with special results: - increase with 40% of shares; - record net profit of 202 million euros (on Romanian Accounting Standard - RAS) - ROE = 18.8% (on Romanian Accounting Standard - RAS) - profit/salary of 1.5 times more than comparing to average on bank system - 21 new goods and services launched in 2005. In Moldova, BCR Chisinau ended 2005 with shares up to 300 million Moldovan lei. Recently, on 15 March, on the street Mesterul Manole, 9 of Chisinau started its activity the Representation Nr. 1 of the bank. The awarding ceremony will take place in September 2006, in Singapore, on the occasion of Annual Meeting of World Bank and IMF.
