Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) is ready to finance projects to facilitate Moldovan products’ access to European markets, Sorin Andrei, the director of BCR’s branch in Chisinau, said at a roundtable meeting centering on the economic relations between Romania and Moldova organized by Expert-Grup and the Romanian Academic Society, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Sorin Andrei, the Moldovan economy during the next years will focus on the implementation of quality standards, especially in the agrifood sector. This means investments in the processing infrastructure and BCR is ready to make a contribution. Sorin Andrei said that BCR could also finance projects in general infrastructure, starting with roads and ending with different facilities. ”BCR is a market leader in Romania with financing of over 60% in infrastructure-related projects. Development projects will be launched in Moldova as in Romania through the FARE program for example. BCR has participated actively in such projects and could engage in them in Moldova as well,” Sorin Andrei said. ”As Moldova is located at the border the EU and the CIS, BCR considers that trade and the related services, mainly the transportation services, will develop significantly. There are areas of interest in which we could develop together.” Sorin Andrei also said that BCR’s branch in Chisinau is engaged in a project aimed at promoting the Moldovan business in Romania and the Romanian business in Moldova and in a project designed to develop entrepreneurial culture by training seminars. A project implemented by BCR in partnership with the Banks Association of Moldova envisions the launch of instruments that would favor the commercial exchange between Moldova and Romania, especially between the SMEs. These are mainly instruments for guaranteeing and financing SMEs’ exports.
