BCC recommends radio broadcasters to transmit social adverts on fire prevention
The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) has recommended the radio broadcasters to air social advertisements on fire prevention.
The request was made by the Firefighters and Rescuers Division, which say that with the weather growing colder, the number of fires as a result of careless smoking and of the incorrect use of faulty or improvised heaters and electric appliances increases considerably.
The TV adverts will contain images of fires and will relate about the measures that should be taken to avoid fires. The radio advertisements will warn the population about the necessity of observing the anti-fire rules.
Over 2,200 fires occurred in Moldova since the start of this year. They resulted in about 150 deaths.
