BCC: PRO TV tries to intimidate Broadcasting Regulator
The Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) states PRO TV tries to intimidate the public broadcasting regulator, after the station had informed that the BCC did not prolong its license, Info-Prim Neo reports.
PRO TV Thursday issued a communique announcing that the BCC refused to prolong its license expiring on December 23, reasoning “manque violations related to the lack of news for the deaf, to the advertising volume and to replacing a newscast produced by PRO TV from Bucharest”. PRO TV considers the refusal to be groundless and says it will sue the BCC,” reads the release signed by manager Catalin Giosan.
In response, the BCC issued a press release denying the information as presented by the Pro TV. “The communique aired by PRO TV Chisinau does not correspond to reality and is nothing but an attempt to intimidate the Moldovan broadcasting regulator,” reads the BCC's release.
“Now PRO TV Chisinau works on the basis of the license, after the expiration of which, the BCC will act in accordance with the law in force,” reads the BCC's release.
