BCC Member Ruslan Plesca released on bail
Criminal investigations against the member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) Ruslan Plesca will continue without pre-trial detention. Charged by the Centre for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption with extortion, he was released from the remand centre on Monday, July 9.
Plesca was freed in exchange for a bail of MDL 150,000 which was established by court several days ago on condition that he will not leave the country and will not change his domicile.
Ruslan Plesca, together with other two colleagues from BCC are suspected of asking a bribe of EUR 60,000 from the manager of a company which provides TV broadcasting services, in exchange for a broadcasting licence and subsequent protection for the company.
Several members of the Council do not exclude that these actions were taken as a result of the BCC’s activity and of the decisions which have been made on their suggestions lately.
