BCC issues licenses for two radio frequencies

The contest to distribute three frequencies, announced by the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC), involved two applicants. The radio station Plus FM was issued with a license to broadcast in Sangerei town, while Basa FM will broadcast in Basarabeasca town. The frequency that remained available is for Panasesti village of Straseni district, IPN reports.

In the meeting of the BCC, Radu Soltan, administrator of the company that manages Plus FM, said that Plus FM has used the given frequency in Straseni until now as well, but the license has expired. In this connection, Council member Dinu Ciocan called on the administrators of radio and TV stations to ask for the renewal of licenses beforehand.

The license for the frequency in Basarabeasca was issued to Basa FM and the BCC members asked that the station’s manager should increase the number of news and educational programs on this.

Council member Mariana Onceanu-Hadarca said the radio stations work despite the financial problems they face and called on these to continue to work correctly and to promote democracy.

BCC member Iurie Colesnic urged the administrators of the stations to be more inventive as regards the programs they produce and to offer more interesting content to the public.
