BCC complains of judicial interference in its work

The Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) asked the Parliament of Moldova, the Supreme Council of Magistrates and the Ministry of Justice to make sure that the courts of law correctly and uniformly implement the law. It also demanded that the Supreme Council of Magistrates impose disciplinary punishment on the judges who pass illegal judgments, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Council complains about judicial interference in its work. “In breach of the law on the administrative panel, the courts get involved and take decisions as regards the broadcasting of advertisements on radio stations and television channels, organization of contests and issuing of licenses, the presence of political pluralism, the approval of broadcasters' editorial projects and other issues that are not within their competence,” the BCC says in a letter. The Council says there was no such interference in it work earlier. “Probably, the illegal decisions passed by courts are aimed at promoting certain economic, political or personal interests,” the letter reads.
