BCC approves renaming of TV channel and new broadcast schedule of this

The channel TV7 was renamed TV8. The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) in its June 13 meeting approved the renewal of the broadcast license owing to the change in the channel’s name and the new broadcast schedule of this, IPN reports.

Lidia Viziru, head of the Council’s Licensing and Authorization Division, said the broadcaster withdrew the programs Planeta HD and Central Partnership, which represented 46.3% of its schedule. TV8 will purchase programs from Russia’s TVC, which will constitute up to 29% of the weekly schedule.

TV8 director Ion Terguta said the recreational programs of TVC will be broadcast on Saturday and Sunday and rebroadcast in the course of the week. There will also be transmitted own news and analysis programs. “We have signed contracts for the purchase of programs form a large European producer. But these will be included in the schedule in autumn, in September, when the audience grows,” stated Terguta.

TV8 will start to broadcast immediately after the June 13 decision of the BCC is published in the Official Gazette.
