BCC announces contest for five TV channels and radio frequency

The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) has announced a contest to distribute five TV channels and a radio frequency. These are the TV channels 37 – Chisinau, 58 – Balti, 24 – Varnita, 48 – Cahul, 54 – Orhei, and the radio frequency 88.3 MHz – Panasesti village, of Straseni district, IPN reports.

Head of the Council’s Licensing and Authorization Division Lidia Viziru said the five TV channels became available following an application submitted by IC “PRO Digital” SRL on December 9. “It is about the channel PRO TV Chisinau, which asked to exclude the terrestrial, radio-electric broadcasting of the program service, namely 37 – Chisinau, 58 – Balti, 24 – Varnita, 48 – Cahul, 54 – Orhei. Thus, based on the application, the broadcast license was renewed and the given channels were removed. The TV channel will work through the agency service distributors, while the channels that became available were put up for contest,” explained Lidia Viziru.

The announcement about the contest will be published in the Official Gazette. During 30 days of the placing of the announcement, the applicants can submit projects for the available TV channels or radio frequency to the BCC. During 20 days, the Council will examine the projects and will choose the winners.
