The municipal route for battery-powered trolleybuses will be launched on June 27, 2017. The five battery-powered trolleybuses will run on the Great National Assembly Square – Chisinau International Airport route, director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company Gheorghe Morgoci announced in the June 19 meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.

According to Gheorghe Morgoci, the Company completed all the procedures related to the certification of the battery-powered trolleybuses. The timetable will be set depending on the schedule of flights and will be posted in stations. 

The battery-operated trolleybuses can cover up to 50 km. These are three times more economical than the diesel fuel-powered buses.
