A batch of chicken eggs is being pulled from shelves and recalled from customers. The procedure is initiated by the poultry and egg producing company Raiplai Avicola, after Salmonella Enteritidis was detected in the droppings of its laying hens.
The National Food Safety Agency says that the expiry dates on the recalled batch range from September 13 to September 24. Customers are asked to refrain from consuming them and are entitled to refunds at the respective points of sale.
“Under the Law, operators selling non-compliant foods are responsible for recalling them from the market and cooperate with the National Food Safety Agency regarding the actions taken to avoid or reduce the risks posed by such food products”, the Agency said in a press release.
