Basescu hopes Moldovan Opposition will be more successful in July 29 elections
Romania’s President Traian Basescu voiced hope that the Moldovan Opposition will achieve better results in the July 29 elections. He made the statements while talking to a group of foreign journalists in Bucharest, the Romanian press has said.
Traian Basescu said that he wants the relations between Romania and Moldova to return to normality and reiterated that the Romanian authorities aim to strengthen the relations between Moldova and the European Union.
The Romanian president told the foreign reporters that the procedure for granting Romanian nationality was accelerated and is coherent and extends to about 2 million Moldovans from a country with a population of 4.3 million.
