Basco close to new title of basketball champion

Current champion Basco Balti demolished Gamma Cahul 106-58 in the first match of the final stage of the National Basketball Championship, IPN reports.

Yevghenny Nartov scored 34 points for the hosts, while Piotr Romanov of Gamma scored 18 points.

The second leg will be played also in Balti on April 28.

In the matches for the bronze medal, Rybnitsa leads with 1-0 after beating Speranta in Chisinau 87-75. On April 29, the two teams will meet again in Chisinau.
