“Barza Albă” SA to become national cultural heritage object

The Bălți-based cognac company “Barza Albă” SA, which has a history of almost 80 years, will be granted the status of national cultural heritage object of the Republic of Moldova, as a Government decision approved on Wednesday provides.

The company’s assets and its tasting halls, except for the equipment for producing cognac, will become national cultural heritage object. The assets will also be included in the Register of State Protected Monuments of the Republic of Moldova.

The status of national cultural heritage object is granted with the aim of keeping the cultural and landscape complexes of national importance for the current and future generations and of promoting the entity as a tourist facility.

The Government also recommends putting “Barza Albă” SA onto the list of property that cannot be privatized and restoring the exclusive right to use the brand “Barza Albă”.

“Barza Albă” SA will become the third winery that will obtain such a status, after “Cricova” SA and the High-Quality Wine Complex “Mileștii Mici”.
