Bars hindering access to public places will be removed

The Chisinau City Hall asked the municipal police to discourage the attempts to illegally set up bars that hinder access to public places, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca Monday asked the municipal police chief how many reports have been drawn up over blocking of roads. Silviu Musuc answered that the police can only discuss with the owners and inform the local administration. Dorin Chirtoaca said that in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses, the police has the power to remove the bars that restrict the movement. “The police can and should notify the Prosecutor's Office and the prosecuting bodies of the committed violations,” said the mayor. Silviu Musuc specified that the police warned six owners to remove the bars within 15 days. The local authorities are being informed about the steps taken. Last week, Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the police to unblock Ciocarliei, Bulgara, Burebista, Gheorghe Madan and other streets where there are bars that hinder access to these public areas. There are 18 bar rows of the kind in Chisinau. Only one of them was placed legally, near a shop on Stefan cel Mare Blvd.
