Bar placed on Ciocarliei St removed
The construction company MoldConstruct Market on Tuesday evening took down the bar that was set up at the intersection of the streets Ciocarliei and Pietrarilor, under a prescription issued by the police, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The prescription was issued after Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca established that the bar was installed without authorization on public property, on the street where the son of the former head of state Oleg Voronin lives. The plot where the bar was placed was rented for a period of three years and a half, but the Traffic Police and the Public Transport and Communications Division haven't been informed about the setting up of the bar.
The bar became the focus of attention three weeks ago, but the municipal police did not react until June 8, when Acting President Mihai Ghimpu called a meeting that involved Dorin Chirtoaca, Minister of the Interior Victor Catan and Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco.
Mihai Ghimpu expressed his indignation at the fact that the bar has not been yet removed. “Maybe you consider Voronin the real head of state? Somebody else governs this country if we cannot take down a bar,” Mihai Ghimpu stressed.
Valeriu Zubco said the Prosecutor's Office will investigate the case if the police present information about the violations committed by the construction company.
On the day when the meeting took place, Victor Catan said if the municipal police chief Silviu Musuc does not obey the mayor, the latter can dismiss him. Dorin Chirtoaca replied Musuc is unfairly attacked as he is between the anvil and hammer given that the municipal police are subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior.
