Banks counterbalance previous declines on stock exchange

EVM Consulting is considering that things on the Moldovan stock exchange are starting to improve thanks to an upward trend showed by the most important banks, Info-Prim Neo reports. From the year's start, the stock prices of a number of banks counterbalanced to a certain degree the previous declines. In particular, Moldova-Agroindbank(MAIB)'s shares rose from 850 lei/share in November 2009 to 1,100 lei/share in February 2010. Victoriabank saw a rise to 170 lei/share in January, from 125 lei/share in November 2009. In the same period, Moldindconbank's stock rose in price from 375 lei/share to 395 lei/. Banca Sociala saw a rise from 100 lei/share to 160 lei/share on February 1. The trend on the banking segment is encouraging and EVM Consulting hopes it will spread on other segments of the stock exchange as well.
