Banking system goes up by 29% in eight month
Assets of the banking system went up by 28.69% in the first eight month of 2006 and exceeded the level of MDL 20 bln (MDL 20.49 bln), the data of the National Bank show. However compared with the same period of the last year, assets’ growth pace reduced by almost 10 percentage points.
Although the credits, the main part of the assets increased by 42.6% compared with 30.3% in January-August 2005, regresses from the other chapters of the assets had a greater influence.
At the end of August, the total credits amounted to MDL 11.92 bln, with a share of 58.17% in the assets.
The data of NBM show that the bonds of the banking system constitute MDL 17.06 bln, increasing by 30% in eight months of 2006.
In the structure of bonds, the bank deposits have a share of 90% and amount to MDL 15.43 bln. In January-August 2006, deposits in the banking system increased by 32.5%.
