Commercial bank Mobiasbancă said in a press release it has transferred 1 percent of the funds budgeted for salaries to the special account opened by the Central Treasury to help the victims of the recent floods along the rivers Prut and Nistru, Info-Prim Neo reports. In addition, from August 5 to 7 Mobiasbancă’s headquarters served as a drop-off location for cash and in-kind donations to the flood victims. It was decided that the donations would go to the village of Rascaieti in Stefan-Voda district. On August 8, the bank staff alongside representatives of the local authorities visited the hard-hit families, offering them the money aid. The in-kind donations were given to the mayor’s office for further administration. Rascaieti endured constant flooding for four days. As a result, 7 homes collapsed and 1,075ha of crop fields were flooded. Mobiasbancă’s outlet no.12 in Edinet also raised funds to send them to the affected families in Criva village.
