Moldova Agroindbank decided to put off the payment of interest rates on loans and also on deposits until May 31. The reimbursements will be made in June at the client’s request. By this measure, the bank aims to support the clients-private individuals in the situation caused by COVID-19, IPN reports.
The decision applies to lending products intended for private individuals, such as consumer, home and overdraft loans, the LiberCard card that enables to pay in installments and credit cards.
This way, no penalties for not paying interest on loans will be imposed during March-May 2020. If the clients are able to, they can continue to pay interest according to schedule. Payments can be made through the MAIBank application or Internet Banking so as to avoid visits to the bank.
MAIB noted that the deposits will continue to be serviced as usual, despite the created circumstances.
The National Bank of Moldova said that the central bank, the licensed banks and nonbank payment service providers continue work and offer all the financial services.
