A woman employed as a cashier at a Riscani bank is under criminal investigation on suspicion of stealing over 200,000 lei.

The General Police Inspectorate says the woman abused the trust of some of the bank's clients and appropriated the money which they wanted to deposit.

The National Investigations Inspectorate received complaints from swindled clients who deposited money with the bank through that cashier but never saw it reflected in their accounts. The police are investigating whether other persons were swindled too.
