The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office completed the investigation and sent to court the criminal case started against the director of the branch of Banca de Economii (BEM) in Straseni town over misappropriation, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, using her position, the woman stole 4.2 million lei from the assets depository of the branch she headed. The Prosecutor’s Office was informed about the illegality by the audit body of the BEM. The woman was remanded in custody.

In order to recover the damage caused by the woman, the prosecutors sequestrated the house and land owned by her. The case will be tried by the Straseni Court. The woman faces 8 to 15 years in jail.
