The Ministry of Finance on September 11 started the process of paying the indexed amounts to Banca de Economii depositors who submitted indexation applications by August 31, 2024. Persons born before 1991 inclusive, who did not benefit from the indexation of the amount at the previous stages, can pick up the money from any office of Moldova’s Post Office.

To benefit from this indexation, depositors, heirs or their representatives must present appropriate identity documents. The heirs must also bring the death certificate and the certified copy of the certificate of inheritance, while the representatives must present the appropriate power of attorney. Also, depositors who have not submitted the indexation applications so far can do so at post offices with the corresponding identity document and savings books.

The payments are made in accordance with Law No. 1530/2002 and Government Decision No. 290/2023, and are financed from the state budget, which for 2024 contains 15 million lei for these purposes.
