Balti-Ungheni gas pipeline put in commission

The high pressure gas pipeline Balti-Ungheni was put into operation on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the presidential press service. The pipeline is about 100 km long and has a capacity of 550 million cubic meters a year. It can supply about 150 settlements of the districts of Sangerei, Falesti and Ungheni. The duct will unify the gasification systems in northern and central Moldova, which will ensure a steady supply to rural settlements, the communiqué from the presidential press service says. The construction of the Balti-Ungheni pipeline is one of the final stages of the national gasification program which is to be implemented by the end of 2010.
