After 79% of the votes cast in the municipality of Balti were counted by 11:40pm, the candidate of Our Party Nicolai Grigorishin won 61.6% of the ballot, IPN reports.
The Party of Socialists’candidate Alexandr Usatyi gained 19.5% of the vote, while Arina Spataru, of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, 6.1%.
Pavel Verejanu, of the Shore Party, won 5.7% of the poll, Sergiu Burlacu, of the National Unity Party, 3.8%, indepedent Elena Gritsko 1.1%, Simion Gutu, of the Party “Action and Solidarity,“ 1.0%, while Oleg Topolnitski, of the Russian Slavic Party of Moldova, 0.8%.
The elections are won by the candidate who gains more than half of the vote.
