Balti military men to stage march on August 24

Sixty military men from Balti will go on a march in the town on August 24 to commemorate 65 years of the liberation of Moldova from fascism, the Ministry of Defense says in a communiqué. The military men will cover 130 kilometers “to places where the bloodiest battles of the summer of 1941 and of 1945 took place, near Hiliuti, Egorovca and Taxobeni villages and Falesti town,” Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Major Eduard Boico, meetings with veterans of the Second World War will be held in the mentioned settlements. The military men will lay flowers to the monuments to war heroes. Festive meetings with World War II veterans will also take place in military units. There will be screened feature films and documentaries. The conscript soldiers will visit museums with thematic exhibitions and will go on trips to the Memorial Complexes “Serpeni Bridge Head”, “Eternity” and “Malinovskoie”, the communiqué says.
